FAQs

AFTERCARE PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Q: Are your products safe for children?
Yes! Our Be-Numbed Spray and Healing Soap are specifically designed to be gentle and effective on young, sensitive skin. They are completely lidocaine-free, chemical-free, and made with natural, skin-safe ingredients — ideal for children’s ear piercings.

Q: Is Be-Numbed really effective without lidocaine?
Absolutely. Be-Numbed uses botanical extracts to naturally calm the skin and reduce discomfort before piercing. While not a medical anesthetic, it provides a soothing, reassuring experience — especially for kids or anxious clients.

Q: Can the Healing Soap get rid of piercing bumps?
Yes! Our Healing Soap is one of the best non-invasive solutions to help shrink and soothe pressure bumps or lumpscaused by irritation. With consistent use, many users see a reduction in size within 2 weeks. It’s also ideal for preventing keloid scarring before it starts.

Q: What's the difference between After Pierce Foam and Healing Soap?
After Pierce Foam is a daily spray-on cleanser perfect for fresh piercings, while Healing Soap is a more targeted deep cleanse ideal for healing bumps or post-irritation care. Many customers use both in their routine.

Q: How do I use the Healing Bath Bomb for piercings?
Simply drop it in a warm bath, soak the affected area for 15–20 minutes, and let the peppermint and Himalayan salt do the work. It’s perfect for multiple piercings at once and helps relieve soreness, redness, and swelling.

Q: Can I use Tat Wash on other irritated skin areas?
Yes! While designed for fresh tattoos, Tat Wash is gentle and natural enough to use on dry, itchy, or sensitive skin areas that need soothing and cleansing.

Q: Is Tat Shield easy to apply?
Yes! Just cut to size, apply to clean dry skin, and gently press down. It creates a waterproof barrier that protects your tattoo while letting it breathe, helping it heal faster with less scabbing or friction.

PIERCING QUESTIONS

Q: How long does a piercing take to heal?
Healing times vary. Here are general guidelines:

  • Earlobes: 6–8 weeks

  • Cartilage: 3–6 months

  • Nose: 2–4 months

  • Navel: 6 months+

  • Surface & Dermals: up to 1 year

Using After Pierce products consistently can support faster, cleaner healing.

Q: Can I clean my piercing with just salt water?
Sterile saline is useful, but it doesn’t offer the same anti-inflammatory and nourishing benefits as our aftercare products, which include healing botanicals like aloe, neem, and allantoin.

Q: What causes piercing bumps?
Bumps can result from pressure, friction, sleeping on the piercing, or irritation from low-quality jewelry. Our Healing Soap and Neem Tree Ultra Heal are great first steps to calm and reduce them.

Q: Can I change my jewellery early?
We don’t recommend it. Wait until healing is complete and always consult your piercer first. If you experience irritation or tightness, contact a professional — don’t just remove the jewellery.

Q: What should I avoid during healing?
Avoid:

  • Touching with unwashed hands

  • Sleeping on the piercing

  • Swimming (especially in pools/lakes)

  • Hair products near facial piercings

  • Harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleansers

TATTOO QUESTIONS

Q: How long does a tattoo take to heal?
Typically, a tattoo will surface heal in 2–3 weeks, but full healing can take up to 6 weeks. Using Tat Wash and Tat Shield during this period helps minimize itching, flaking, and scabbing.

Q: Can I soak in water with a fresh tattoo?
No. Avoid baths, swimming, or soaking until the tattoo is healed. Only use soaking methods (like with the Healing Bath Bomb) for piercings, not tattoos.

Q: Why does my tattoo feel itchy or raised?
It’s totally normal during healing. Stick to gentle, fragrance-free cleansers like Tat Wash, avoid scratching, and apply a breathable barrier like Tat Shield during the early healing stage.
