What size piercing jewellery do I need?
There isn't one universal size.
The correct gauge, bar length or ring diameter depends on the piercing, your anatomy and whether the piercing is fresh or fully healed.
If you're unsure, ask a professional piercer to confirm your size before ordering.
What does internally threaded jewellery mean?
With internally threaded jewellery, the threading is contained inside the bar and the decorative end screws into it.
This means the external surface of the bar that passes through the piercing does not have exposed screw threading.
When can I change my piercing jewellery?
You should wait until your piercing has healed sufficiently before changing jewellery unless a professional piercer recommends an earlier change, such as downsizing.
A piercing can look healed externally before the tissue inside has fully recovered.
If you're unsure, visit a professional piercer before removing or changing your original jewellery.

How long does a piercing take to heal?
Healing times vary depending on the piercing, your body and how the piercing is cared for.
As a general guide:
Earlobes: around 6–8 weeks or longer
Ear cartilage: several months
Nose: several months
Navel: around 6–12 months or longer
Surface piercings and dermals: healing varies considerably
These are only general guidelines. Your professional piercer can advise you based on your individual piercing.
How should I clean a new piercing?
Always follow the aftercare advice given by your professional piercer.
Keep the area clean, avoid unnecessary touching and use an appropriate piercing aftercare product as directed.
Avoid repeatedly twisting or moving your jewellery while the piercing is healing.
Can I clean my piercing with homemade salt water?
We recommend using an appropriate purpose-made piercing aftercare product rather than mixing your own salt solution.
Homemade salt mixtures can easily be made too strong or too weak.

What causes piercing bumps?
Piercing bumps can develop for several reasons, including:
Pressure
Friction
Sleeping on the piercing
Jewellery movement
Snagging
Unsuitable jewellery
Incorrect jewellery sizing
Other sources of irritation
The first step is usually identifying and reducing the source of irritation rather than simply trying to make the bump disappear.
If a bump is persistent, painful or worsening, speak to a professional piercer or healthcare professional.
Is a piercing bump the same as a keloid?
No.
Many bumps that appear around piercings are irritation-related and are not true keloid scars.
A keloid is an abnormal overgrowth of scar tissue and shouldn't be diagnosed simply from the appearance of a piercing bump.
If you're concerned about unusual or growing scar tissue, seek appropriate professional advice.
Can I change my jewellery early?
We don't recommend unnecessarily changing jewellery while a piercing is healing.
Some piercings require professional downsizing after the initial swelling has reduced. Your piercer can advise you when this is appropriate.
If your jewellery feels too tight, appears to be embedding or is causing significant discomfort, seek professional advice rather than simply removing it yourself.
What should I avoid while my piercing heals?
Try to avoid:
Touching your piercing with unwashed hands
Picking crusting around the piercing
Unnecessary twisting or movement
Sleeping directly on a healing piercing
Swimming or prolonged soaking during early healing
Hair and beauty products contacting the piercing
Harsh or unsuitable cleaning products
Changing jewellery before the piercing is ready

Can Healing Soap help care for a piercing bump?
Healing Soap can be used to gently cleanse and care for the skin around an irritated piercing.
However, piercing bumps have many possible causes. Aftercare products won't necessarily resolve a problem if the piercing continues to experience pressure, friction, unsuitable jewellery or another source of irritation.
For persistent or worsening bumps, speak to a professional piercer.
What is Neem Tree Ultra Heal used for?
Neem Tree Ultra Heal is designed to support the care of irritated piercings as part of an appropriate aftercare routine.
Always follow the directions supplied with the product.
Persistent pain, significant swelling, discharge or other concerning symptoms should be professionally assessed.
Is Be-Numbed lidocaine-free?
Yes. Be-Numbed is lidocaine-free.
It uses carefully selected ingredients to provide a soothing experience without relying on lidocaine-based numbing agents.
Be-Numbed is not a medical anaesthetic.
Are AfterPierce products suitable for children?
Suitability depends on the individual product.

How do I use the Healing Bath Bomb?

How do I use Tat Shield?
Apply Tat Shield according to the instructions supplied with the product and ensure the skin is prepared as directed before application.
